The client required accommodation for their site operatives for the duration of the contract and due to the lack of suitable living and site accommodation facilities near the place of work another solution was required. 

 

A total of over 60 workers required sleeping, welfare, leisure and office accommodation to be shipped to SL before major works could proceed. All living accommodation was provided using a combination of 32 No. modified ISO containers and 60 No. CTX flat-pack modules. All where transported from various ports on a container ship to a local port where-by they where then transported by road and set-up on site. 

 

The advantage of such a system of accommodation is that it is quick and easily relocate-able to almost any where in the world. The Lloyds Approved ISO Cargospace units can be transported by the same means as any other standard container and placed on trains, trucks and container ships. An accommodation village on site in Africa can be relocated to South America for example, using road, rail and sea. This is a cost effective and environmentally sustainable system as the containers are being re-used. 

 

Over-all, great savings where made on the accommodation and transport costs and the Cargospace units provided a secure and comfortable environment for the workers throughout the duration of the works.
