CargospaceTM is an innovative use of
standard shipping containers to provide
cost-effective and sustainable
accommodation for a variety of uses including:
Offices
Workshops
Studios
Classrooms
Due to its modular construction Cargospace™ buildings may be relocated and re-used at any time making them a truly sustainable building.
Sustainable Accommodation
Cargospace aims to achieve a holistic sustainable system from inception through to occupation.
The system achieves this by reducing waste in a controlled manufacturing environment. Off-site construction uses less energy than traditional builds, uses less transport and control of recycled materials is better. Renewable Materials are sourced and used throughout the structure. Thermal Insulation levels are over and above the building regulations minimum requirements. Efficient heating, cooling, passive ventilation and low energy lighting all combine to keep the overall carbon footprint to a minimum. Green roofs, solar heating panels, PV cells, biomass boilers and water harvesting may all be used to further enhance the green credentials of cargospace buildings.
Container Talk
All Cargospace™ buildings are constructed from standard shipping containers which are manufactured to very high and precise standards. They are capable of withstanding huge loads, typically 40 tones and may be stacked up to 7 high, fully laden.
Cargospace™ modules are quickly bolted together using a bracket and base plate system and a complete building may be erected and weather in one day.
Internally and externally, finishing's can be the same as any traditional building. Internal separating walls can be removed to provide clear open plan spaces and holes cut in floors to accommodate stairs, lifts and services.
Various forms of external cladding can also be used to disguise or compliment the industrial origins of the Cargospace™ building.
